I can remeber reading about Michels Abduction in the local paper "The Cairns Post" back in 1987. It was a small piece, about 5 lines and about 5 pages in (this is taken from my memory banks from 20 years ago and I was 15 at the time, so I may be a lil off...). No big fuss was made and generally the feeling I got from the article was that the journalist did not really believe his story, but wrote it anyway. As for online, I can't imagine anyone has transfered all old copies of the Cairns Post to the web. As far as I know the paper has only started putting current editions online in the last year or two. I have been to the local library searching through old copies (that have been transfered to microfisch) of the paper to find the article, but as yet have come up empty handed :(

Hi Leo,
Is there any chance to actually locate the news on paper and then digitize it and send it via e-mail? That would be amazing!! I would gladly put it in this site.
What do you think? :-k

Have thought of that, but just have to find time to search the Cairns Post Archives. Been real busy of late, but will have to make some time in near future. :)

Thouht of that as well, all they told me was "Go to Cairns Library, they have all old copies on Microfisch"

Another suggestion... try to find Michel's ex-wife and/or son, they might still have a copy of article in their possession... or maybe even Michel himself??

Here is part of an article from 1994 melbourne newspaper 'TheAge'
Earth disappoints the space traveller
Michel Desmarquet says he has been to another planet. He talks to Michael Shmith. SOME interviews are easy. But where do you start with a man who claims to have been ``physically abducted" by aliens and transported to the planet Thiaoouba, where he discovered he had 81 previous lives (inclu

Thanks for the info survivor!!
I tried to purchase it but guess what... it doesn't cost only $2.20 AUD!
The actual cost is $22 since we can only buy $22 worth of credits as a minimum and since this is my only interest I'm not going to pay 10 times more the price of the article just to have access to it, specially being the article what it seems to be (highly biased and uninformative).

So far our best hope is still in the Cairns Post ;)

$22? For digital transfer? What a con! They should hang their head in shame.
