ancient technology

Post: # 13129Post Rezo »

this is something Ive searched and searched online and here, to make sure it wasn't mentioned and actually Im surprised theres so little about it here. But, Ill post the following article to get the curiosity going.

Antikythera computer

the reason i post here, about this: I strongly suggest one ignore the first few seconds of the above video, specifically the year given as 100 bce. Heres why

question after reading that. How much older, could it be even as old as suggested, as even *earlier* egyptian dynastic times [or more]? which span quite a ways... anyhow, it'd suggest the metals involved were very well made. so, have fun with it. I sure did

was also trying to find correlation of this gear clock and pi, lately im into investigating pi for some reason...

I realize that antikythera gears are not exactly "antigravity" material, and even less so likely to be pre-diluvean [in the nomenclature of donnely] but, it certainly was, like the didongyi, quite an interesting device, in my opinion.
