Songs of Praise?

Post: # 5935Post survivor »

....[that are (spiritually?) personal to you.]

Let me get the ball rolling..

1/ Mad World; by Tears For Fears

..some lyrics from the song

And I find it kind of funny
I find it kind of sad
The dreams in which I'm dying
Are the best I've ever had
I find it hard to tell you
'Cos I find it hard to take
When people run in circles
It's a very, very
Mad World

2/ Calling Occupants; by The Carpenters

..lyrics

In your mind you have capacities you know
To telepath messages through the vast unknown
Please close your eyes and concentrate
With every thought you think
Upon the recitation we're about to sing

Calling occupants of interplanetary craft
Calling occupants of interplanetary, most extraordinary craft

Calling occupants of interplanetary craft
Calling occupants of interplanetary craft
Calling occupants of interplanetary, most extraordinary craft

You've been observing our earth
And we'd like to make a contact with you
We are your friends

Calling occupants of interplanetary craft
Calling occupants of interplanetary ultra emissaries

We've been observing your earth
And one night we'll make a contact with you

We are your friends
Calling occupants of interplanetary quite extraordinary craft

And please come in pace we beseech you
(Only of love we will teach you)
Our earth may never survive (So don't come we beg you)
Please interstellar policemen
Won't you give us a sign give us a sign that we've reached you

With your mind you have ability to form
And transmit thought energy far beyond the norm
You close your eyes, you concentrate, together that's the way
To send a message we declare World Contact Day

Calling occupants of interplanetary craft
Calling occupants of interplanetary craft
Calling occupants of interplanetary, most extraordinary craft

Calling occupants
Calling occupants
Calling occupants of interplanetary, anti-adversary craft

We are your friends

When I was a little boy I used to love UFO`s, and all things ET, sometimes I would fall asleep in front of the TV late at night,I remember watching the song "Calling Occupants" on "Rage" and I to noted the words to the songs.....I remember thinking..if only...
By their deeds shall you know them.

yea, one of my favorite songs as a little kid was one by Smash Mouth which was about seeing aliens in the sky. I forget the title of it now, though.

"Caledonia" by Dougie MacLean
I don't know if you can see
The changes that have come over me
In these last few days I've been afraid
That I might drift away
So I've been telling old stories, singing songs
That make me think about where I came from
And that's the reason why I seem
So far away today

Oh, but let me tell you that I love you
That I think about you all the time
Caledonia you're calling me
And now I'm going home
If I should become a stranger
You know that it would make me more than sad
Caledonia's been everything
I've ever had

Now I have moved and I've kept on moving
Proved the points that I needed proving
Lost the friends that I needed losing
Found others on the way
I have kissed the ladies and left them crying
Stolen dreams, yes there's no denying
I have traveled hard with coattails flying
Somewhere in the wind

(Chorus)
Now I'm sitting here before the fire
The empty room, the forest choir
The flames that could not get any higher
They've withered now they've gone
But I'm steady thinking my way is clear
And I know what I will do tomorrow
When the hands are shaken and the kisses flow
Then I will disappear
"Warning" by Incubus

Bat your eyes girl, be otherworldly,
count your blessings, seduce a stranger.
What's so wrong with being happy?
Kudos to those who see through sickness.

When she woke in the morning
she knew that her life had passed her by.
And she called out a warning,
"Don't ever let life pass you by."

I suggest we learn to love ourselves before it's made illegal.
When will we learn? When will we change?
Just in time to see it all fall down.
Those left standing... will make millions...
writing books on the way it should have been.

When she woke in the morning
she knew that her life had passed her by.
And she called out a warning,
"Don't ever let life pass you by."

Floating in this cosmic jacuzzi
we are like frogs oblivious to the water starting to boil.
No one flinches, we all float face down.

When she woke in the morning
she knew that her life had passed her by.
And she called out a warning,
"Don't ever let life pass you by."

Imagine, by John Lennon

Post: # 6057Post ptex »

I can't believe nobody posted this one so far, but you can't possibly miss it.
In my opinion this song is the one I know the closest related with TP and the message they brought to us (incredible the insight John got when writing this song):

Imagine, by John Lennon
  • Imagine there's no heaven
    It's easy if you try
    No hell below us
    Above us only sky
    Imagine all the people
    Living for today...

    Imagine there's no countries
    It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
    And no religion too
    Imagine all the people
    Living life in peace...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

    Imagine no possessions
    I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
    A brotherhood of man
    Imagine all the people
    Sharing all the world...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

Imagine...what a classic!

..let me tell you all something funny and if none of you burst out laughing, I will be disappointed.

Ok, when I was reading TP for the very first time and they had taken Michel to the Golden doko to show him Jesus , he asked who were all the other bodies, (here comes the punch line) I was so hoping that John lennon was there  ha ha I'm serious, I'll just hide over here ok. (I love John Lennon)

I`ll just pick myself up off the floor!!! :D

Man, you have bared your soul in revealing that one…luv ya work!!! :D

O.k. if were in on TP war stories I have a few, at the time I found TP I was with one of my so called friends in the city of Brisbane 1996, and I went in to this really old and big second hand book store, and went into the ufo section, there was a copy of TP at the time called abducted to the ninth planet, you know the origin with best seller on the cover, I had no money, so I made a promise with my self, I would borrow the book for the night and return it the next day, so I stuffed it down my pants and walked out.

That day I got home, and but on this album on repeat on my stereo it played all night till I watched the sun come up, just click "listen to all" and it will play for you.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00000 ... oding=UTF8

I armed my self with a portable water filter and sat up all night in a little room under the house with a cement floor one chair and one little table, drinking water to keep my self awake with this music, at various points I walked out of my little room under the house to look at the stars, the city was dead quite and I felt like it was just me and the stars, I lost this album, and I really should buy it again, I am so sentimental about it, turned a corner that night.

Next day made a trip to the city and honored my agreement and returned the book to the shelf, quietly happy about my mission being a success.
By their deeds shall you know them.

I have never heard "Imagine" before, but now after reading the lyrics I recognize some of it from quotes I've seen around. I didn't know the quotes were from a song.
