Perhapse the Earth will be destroyed in 2012, but then again, you might die tomorrow. And if you do, are you then, at the moment of death, in anyway bothered about 2012?? No, ofcourse not.
2012 is so far away, it is better to pick a moment much closer. Now, for instance. You can work with Now much better than with 2012. If your point of focus, your point of living, is always on 'special' occurances often years away, you will not make many breakthroughs because breakthroughs can only be made right here right now.
Some associate 2012 with acsension. With spiritual enlightenment. With an development into a higher level, a higher dimension. Well, that all may very well happen, or it may not happen. But regardless of whether it happens or not, it all depends on now. Now is the basis for any future action or happening, becoming or whatever. If you don't have the Now you won't have the Then, if you don't start now, you won't end then. And it doesn't matter whether it is in 2012 or in 2137 or any other date. If you don't actively pursue your goals you have for 2012 today, in this very moment, Now, you won't complete them when the time comes.
So really, it is not a matter of an ascension in 2012, it is a matter of ascension NOW. Throw away all the 'special' dates you have and start doing things that you want to do NOW. It is that simple, but people rather wait till the moment comes and then start doing things. Too late ofcourse.
You can look it in another way too. (As you can looks things from all sorts of angels.) What if 2012 is really about acsension, about spiritual developmen? And that 2012 will be the perfect time to grow because the universe is helping you, the universe is also unfolding, growing, so it is easier to grow then because then everything else is also moving in that same direction. But what is your development when you development was depending on the universe around you?? What is your development when it is actually the universe pushing you into that direction?? Ofcourse, it is no longer development then, but simply going with the flow. You simply allow the universe to develop through you. It is like loving a woman and loving a stone. Loving a woman is by far the most easiest, especially if the woman is..... well, you know what I mean. But loving a stone is far more difficult, but, if you ever succeed loving the stone then nothing will stop you, you will be able to love all. Same as with spiritual development, if you development depends on outside factors (namely: the universe/nature helping you to develop) what happens when the outside factors stop, or move in the other direction?? But if your spiritual development depends on nothing, then nothing can take it away. It is yours forever.
But there are many more ways of looking at the whole ascension in 2012. The general conclusion, however, is that it always starts NOW, and if you don't start NOW you will not come to the end, or to the new beginning....
