1000 tonne elevated stones in baalbek anyone
Hi all,
Here is an article I find very interesting. While it lacks the credibility of a mainstream peer reviewed science journal, the author raises some interesting points. The authors own agenda is fairly transparent and when you see the titles of the books he has authored, my guess is he is an alien interventionaist type of theorist. Nevertheless, he raises some interesting questions and presents some empirically testable and observable anomalies at an ancient site called Baalbek.

These sorts of ancient site level artefacts at the very least seem unusual to me. Based on todays dominant archeological paradigm of slaves and pulley systems used by the Romans etc I cannot see how these types of stones were moved and placed with such precision given their size and the unusual location.
Remember the scientific method is in part about testing hypotheses and developing alternative theories when existing theories fail to account for observable facts, this information seems to have slipped under the dominant archeological paradigm
I see a more plausible explanation is that anti-gravity systems were used to lift these stones. But then again, if I was arrogant enough, I would think that nothing like this is possible simply because it is not developed yet.
Our knowledge and understanding is contextual and a big piece of that context is temporal. Recent cognitive theories that have been adapted to explain the workings of the brain are really rooted in our understanding and development of computer technology. When the dominant psychological paradigm in the world was religion, people with mental illness were believed to be possessed by demons and or satan. This has changed to a reductionist chemical based understanding of the brain today, because we have the possibility of measuring and observing this with brain imaging.
Science is ultimately limited by its capacity to observe and measure things.
Before copernicus, you would have been sure to find the leading minds and thinkers of the day posting great in depth theories to explain why the sun revolved around the earth.
We are nothing else, if not shaped in our thinking by the dominant paradigms of the time and place we are born and live in.
I guess, and I may be wrong here, because every scientist I have met is hell bent on criticising anyone or any idea that brings into question the dominant paradigms of the scientific community

greetings rishmash! -- I don't believe I have said hello yet -- it is refreshing to hear.... indeed I agree - our ability to discover new truths, is somewhat colored by what we know what to look for, and how, collectively I guess.
have you checked out unfinished obelisk at aswan? I find a bit of similarity there as well. As a large easter island statue not yet erected which is quite large and likely very heavy also.

It seems if there were no other proof, and there is, [check out Puma Punku, I'm amazed by those copper clamps!] http://www.anomalies-unlimited.com/Clamps.html [also seen in Dendera, Egypt! I ignore the dating on that website of course I think they are all much older, as mentioned at http://www.atlantisquest.com/prehistcity.html but its only a guess] , these massive stones indicate a level not only of architecture but siderial and 'ley line' alignments, that is too often fit into the 'cultural-temporal' and 'scientific' darwinist paradigms of linear time progression that immediately choose to fit these places [like a square peg in a round hole, imo] in to ideas of linear evolution in technical and spiritual [emotional] maturity I'll call it. Science in fact as you pointed out, for the most part, and sometimes proudly, has divorced itself from aspects of higher thought, which is required as well, to significantly improve science! It all depends on the aims of an ancient investigation, context is everything.
To be fair though, such linear thinking is something I used to buy into [that we're somehow 'better, that past people were always cavemen until recently...].

Hi Rezo,
Thanks for the greetings and the links. Loved them. I sometimes wonder about science as a discipline Rezo, because to me the real work we are here for comes in the form of introspection.
Most people with a scientific background I have met, are simply not into introspection, and in fact, do not seem to value it at all.
Cheers R

Oh you should talk to bomowhkl then, look for his postings in the science forums here, they are really really enlightening.
The essence of Consciousness, is the ability to Create, Process, Transmit and Receive Information Autonomously.
Re: 1000 tonne elevated stones in baalbek anyone
Can this be the moai Thao referred to Michel as his statue in the following extract from The Book, page 70:Rezo wrote:[moai at rano raraku quarry, called 'el gigante']: http://www.flickr.com/photos/saperl/2209581983/
Please notice that the Thao speaks in the present tense (eg. there is a statue), so most likely the statue is still there, Can this "El Gigante" be it?’No, but your dream was really quite strange, for on Easter Island, there is a statue which was sculptured a very long time ago to immortalise me and which was given my name.’

ooh, maybe!
Re: 1000 tonne elevated stones in baalbek anyone
know whats cool about the 7 statues of easter island ... michel references them. I recently discovered about these [called "Ahu Akivi"]:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ahu_Akivi
interesting parts:
they are only statues on easter island located inland,
[presumably] only Easter Island statues that face sunset during equinoxes & have backs towards sunrise for them [equinoxes] - And,
they're the only easter island statues that are facing the ocean.
of course, theres lots of moai all over the island too.
the akivi [seven] are @ 27° 6′ 54″ S, 109° 23′ 42″ W which is facing west [google earth]. heres an aerial view:

heres a helpful map of moai around the island:
