collapse of monetary system?

With increasing unsuistable deficts of many western countries in particular United states, we might see very interesting historic events this year as life of people would be transformed into more community-like as the world economy collapse....finger crossed.

It would be a sad event, to say the least a bit early. The system as currently exercised by the majority of population has still many lessons to learn for many of us. The fluctuations seen within a limited system of operation still provide sufficient opportunity for growth I think.

World economy does not depend on a monetary system and exists independently. Attaching a fictional value to a piece of material by your own choice is asking for proper feedback. And so we observe down/up until detachment of the process occurs during honest analysis on the matter.

In regard to a more practical means of exchange, based on total effort of production whereby the measure taken would be the most efficient means of production know at a certain time for a certain thing, stability in this area of existence is foreseeable.

At the time of the great depression, it was the same situation.Yet, instead that they would give the overproducted items for free, they burned it, or throwed it away..Humans now are even more brainwashed,If there would be a self-sufficient community, BEFORE the collapse happen, people would join it.then,

Being forced to live in a money system world is cruel. I'd like nothing better than to see the money-system go. But I don't think the majority is ready for it. I sometimes wonder if the entire population has to die-off first in order to usher in a money-less system world. Depressing thought no matter how I look at it. :(

On a nonprofessional note, I think the solution to let the monetary system die and come up with a barter system is to stop trading currency (money) -which is used to determine the relative value of items, acting like a proxy when two or more parties are involved in a trade activity- BUT to keep the current system of value that we have so we can i.e. estimate how much of A is required and demanded by BMW to give X new hydrogen cars to it's supplier of A.

One problem is that the solution above would completely isolate a group by keeping it within it's own system of trade (demand & supply) which satisfies all the parties involved in it. This means if I want a BMW hydrogen car then I won't get it unless I enter the trade system which would relate my product value directly to the cost of a unit of those cars, which is a great problem in my view, also because the majority of the people that we have are simply... consumers...

I dont think money is the problem. At least, it is not the root of evil, it's just what people do about it that is really bad. And I really dont think having a monetary system in a category 1 planet would hurt our personal development. Really, I think money is the necessary dark to the light. And that is a lesson that only low category planet have. In order for the monetary system to collapse, isnt it necessary for it to exist in the first place? ;)
I think we compare ourselves too much with Thiaoouba's system. I know its all great and perfect to not have any monetary system, but IMO it is something that is impossible for our mentality and technology... yet. Though I will gladly join in when such occasion ever arrive.

Anyway, until that happen, the question is whether you use the monetary system for the greater good or not :D. Or maybe we should ask ourselves, are we thinking the right way when we're using the monetary system?

Anyone heared about David Harvey?

I watched an interview with him on BBC's Hard talk, expressing some great ideas and views over this topic.

What's contributionism? Can't access the Web, said that the site is down..

Rather than Barter system, I'd suggest to have a real community where everyone's being provided a necessary shelter and enough food / clothing, and everyone contribute as much as they can in regards to the things that need to be done, and of course such things must go through proper planning in order to have a maximized result. It's more of a teamwork and solidarity feeling if we all unite to achieve a common goal.

I actually think its a bit simplistic to call it 'socialism' or whatever ... if youre refering to Mr Tellinger... im relatively familiar with textbook definition of it. once money enters the equation, despite the existing political system, things always begin to 'alter' away from the peoples individual and best interest and what is fair. In my opinion.

really what it comes down to is reasonably mutually agreed upon community based living that *also respects individual free will . one without other, seems incomplete.
