Jam proof information encoding?

Discussion on technology and how it could be used to assist spiritual development and NOT enslave us. This includes technology that will help us live in harmony with Nature (e.g.: "Lifter" technologies that could replace the petrol driven engine). Also, discussion of past and current scientific thought so that gems are not buried in the sands of time, and spiritual progress through science is achieved.

Jam proof information encoding?

Post: # 5207Post Yothu »

Taken from Dr. Chalko's Article: Is choice or chance the essence of the Universe?
The other necessity that arises from the need to protect yourself seems to be encoding your intellect and memory so that they both become "jam proof". Direct amplitude or frequency modulation encoding is clearly not suitable, because they are too easily disturbed. The discrete phase-encoding spread among many natural forms of oscillation over a wide frequency range (spectrum) seems a very attractive possibility, not only because it is robust to disturbances but also because it enables you to achieve a very high density of information storage.
Can somebody who's competent in the field put it into different words? I am experiencing a hard time understanding this particular passage.

You have a carrier wave. Let's say a sinus wave. That wave has 3 parameters: amplitude, frequency and phase. Amplitude being the strength of the wave, frequency the recurrence and phase the displacement of the sinus wave.

So with AM, amplitude modulation, both the frequency and phase stay fixed and only the amplitude of the carrier wave modulates.

With FM, frequency modulation, both the amplitude and phase stay fixed (or fixed enough) and only the frequency of the carrier wave modulates.

With PM, phase modulation, both the frequency and amplitude stay fixed (or fixed enough) and only the phase of the carrier wave modulates.
