Wow, those "about:blank"s can be nasty!

I confess I am made happy kwite easily: eating and !drinking does the job for me.
But - oh well - having some good meditation makes me happy as well. There is nothing better for me than to relax and forget about your body for a while...

Methods to prevent spyware and viruses on Windows, apart from running antispyware and antivirus scanners:

I'd recommend using the free (for personal, non-commercial use only) SandboxIE from http://www.sandboxie.com -- all changes recorded to the computer during browsing go to a sandbox that is separate from the rest of the software installed on the computer. It also works with programs different from browsers. I've tested it and it works as expected.

Alternatives which I haven't tested but may work better are the free version of BufferZone, http://www.trustware.com/freeware.php, and the one of "Software Virtualization Solution" (SVS), http://juice.altiris.com/svs. The latter software is only free for personal, non-commercial use; I am not sure about the former software, it could be free for commercial as well.

For when it's not desirable or possible to use a sandbox or another form of so-called virtualisation of your computer, see the article "Browsing the Web and Reading Email Safely as an Administrator" at http://msdn.microsoft.com/security/secu ... 152004.asp and install DropMyRights.

There are also other less convenient alternatives, but they can be better depending on the program you want to use. For example, see "5 Ways To Get Vista's Security Now", http://www.techweb.com/showArticle.jhtm ... =191600154.

Or install for free a more secure (currently at least, and by more secure I mean with respect to browsing and using email, I don't want to make a general statement about operating system security) and/or more obscure operating system, such as GNU/Linux. You can even run many of your Windows programs under GNU/Linux through the WINE translator, http://www.winehq.com, or through the free emulator VMware Player for Linux, http://www.vmware.com/download/player/, or if those fail, the slower QEMU, http://www.qemu.com. And if you have a somewhat recent computer that supports it, the best way is becoming Xen, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xen#Xen_with_Windows.

Edited on 2008-08-17: Added BufferZone and SVS, and software use terms (personal, non-commercial, etc.).
Do you REALLY practice meditation? If your REALLY do, do you practice a GOOD method? Are you sure this is REALLY so?

I had a spyware removal program that stealthily installed [spywarequake] like a trojan, nothing worked, even spyhunter.

My brother took his copy of Spy Sweeper and Windows Defender, which immediately removed what was until then nearly impossible to completely eradicate.

that actually made me happy YESTerday....
today.....

what made me happy today:

-wrote a song
-eating fish w/steamed veggies and sundried tomato/olive oil and mango chutney
-helped a customer over the phone at work, who was in a tight situation and thanked me
-going on this forum [awwwww]
-got a private message in my e-mailbox [yay people are talking to me]
-the great weather we're having here in N-E NJ.
-becoming a little bit more aware of the truth behind our collective reality :o

Hey Survivor, that's exactly my kind of thing too! Besides more or less frequent walks in the mountains, sea and country-side I adore doing kayak and rafting in rivers :)

Reviving an old topic! :D
I don't know why that violent heavy metal made me feel good; it's strange.
I got the same feeling :o I got evanescence (dark XD)

What makes me feel good today... is it's the last time I'll cook alone! My brothers are coming back home tomorrow morning :) And my parents are out on vacation :P So that means I was alone for 1 whole week! ALONE :D Imagine a 16 years old guy alone in his home for 1 week. That was me :D

What makes me feel good too today is not realising for the first time it's new year! I was watching a movie at my friend's house, then I asked for the time... I missed the countdown for the new year (oh, and happy new year everyone!!)! :?

Last thing: To have chosen to experience new stuff! I know it's useless to most people, but you have to know we can earn experience everywhere. I had lots of new stuff to try at my friend's house (as useless as dart throwing, having the experience to sleep at someone else's house, watching flashing light on the wall during all night, etc.), and I had the option to go back. But I said that I won't come back to my friend's house that often, so I chose to stay until tomorrow morning (that is, today). And I'm also happy to have chosen to stay, because I would of not burrowed 2 movies I really wanted to see!

Anyway, I could post here any day, because if you know the Truth, you will always be happy! Isn't it right, guys ^^?
